About OI Check Status

OI Check Status is a workplace safety assessment tool designed to help SGS employees and contractors make informed decisions before starting any work activity. By conducting a quick Last Minute Risk Assessment (LMRA) in under three minutes, you gain critical clarity on whether conditions are safe to proceed.

Stay in control of your safety with a structured assessment that prompts you to consider essential questions: What could happen if I proceed? Am I completely safe? Do I have the correct equipment, tools, training, and personal or collective protection needed for this job? This reflective process ensures you're never caught unprepared and can identify hazards before they become incidents.

Your assessment guides three clear outcomes. If no risks are present, proceed with confidence knowing the job can be done safely. If risks may exist, proceed with caution by implementing additional precautions to mitigate exposure. If known risks are present and uncontrolled, invoke a Stop Work Authority (SWA) to discuss solutions with your supervisor and formally report the hazard or risk through Crystal or Group OI Contacts.

Built for high-risk work environments, this tool prioritizes user engagement and accountability, ensuring every worker pauses to assess their situation before taking action. Whether you're an employee or contractor, OI Check Status puts workplace safety decisions directly in your hands—transforming a quick three-minute check into a powerful defense against preventable accidents and injuries.
